A Cluttered Space. #003
In typical Procrastinate B style, days have turned to weeks and weeks rolled into months. Plans have evaporated, despite my best intentions. Anyway, I’m here and endeavouring to ignore that blasted squirrel to gain some semblance of writing routine.
Goodbye Old, Useless, Productivity Crap; Hello Brand New, Guaranteed Successful, Productivity Gadget.
I’ve had a go at making my writing crevice a little more personalised. My little nook is now painted a very fetching plum custard colour. My ceiling, floor and furniture, not wanting to miss out, have also decided to go plum custard in spots and splodges. This, you may not be surprised to learn, was unintentional. I generally get a proper man in to do proper man jobs, as I am not designed to perform such tasks competently. Anyway, no-one else is going to see it and I can always paint the areas meant to be unpainted, which will inevitably mean getting white paint on my newly plum custard artwork, thus invoking an eternal circle of incompetence.
In the years since we had work done, the changing of our ridiculously long living room/sun-room into a downstairs bedroom, en-suite and back-room/office space, I have sought the perfect set-up for the tiny writing portion of said office. A set-up that will maximise productivity, get that book finished, my blog up and running regularly and cement myself as one of the internet’s greatest wits.
Now, I know that a writing space is only as productive as the effort the writer puts in. This means:-
- Writing with regularity, even if one doesn’t feel like it.
- Ploughing on to get that book finished, by any means necessary.
- Avoiding squirrels, by being stealthy.
I’ve failed on every count of late. Absolutely down to me and my long-standing problems with my nemesis, procrastination.
Anyway, I’ve splurged on a Moft Smart Mat. It’s a mat, that’s smart. It has woozles and whatnots, add-ons and already theres. I love it.

Genuinely, my desk set-up has distracted me for ages. Every addition clutters the tiny space up, every time I take something away the productivity of the space diminishes. This feels right.
I’ll post a little more on my desk set-up at a later date, or I’ll get distracted.
Procrastinate B’s Future.
Feels a little odd talking about the blog’s future when I haven’t even got a routine going yet, but things have been a little fast and loose, and I’d like the site to have a more robust identity.
I intend to craft a template this week, things I think will keep the site interesting and less scattergun. However, I quite like sitting down with little plan and seeing what happens; so there will be some leeway there.
